Think in Roles, Not Stars

Before the auction, break your squad into roles: a top-order anchor, power hitters, a finisher, spin, pace, death bowlers, and one or two flexible all-rounders. Then decide how many of each you need. Now every bid has a purpose — you are filling a role, not chasing a name.

The Finisher Is a Specialist, Not an Afterthought

Every T20 squad needs a player who can hit 25 off 12 balls when it matters. This is a distinct skill, and it is often available cheap because the room undervalues it. Target a finisher in the mid-rounds for real value.
